The Igor Golyak Acting Studio looks to continue the tradition of Russian Acting methods. Founded in the spirit of such Master Acting Teachers as Konstantin Stanislavsky, Vsevolod Meyerhold, Yevgeny Vakhtangov, Michael Chekhov, and Alexander Tairoff, this studio focuses on helping actors to marry physical action and psychological connection to create a fully-formed performance. These techniques, and an actor’s experience with them, will create a more emotionally connected actor with a greater depth and consistency. Since the methods are handed down from one practitioner to another in an age-old tradition, they are not currently taught anywhere else in the Boston area. While some books may describe the history surrounding the methods, none will cover the methods in-depth from a practitioner’s stand-point.
